Dr.Lauren Keating, DVM

Dr. Lauren Keating, a 1983 graduate of Tuskegee University, is a member of the Virginia Veterinary Medical Association (VVMA), American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), and American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). She participates in animal visitation and therapy programs, and is currently chair of the Human Animal Bond Committee of the VVMA. In 2002, she was Virginia's Distinguished Veterinarian of the Year. Dr. Keating enjoys all aspects of veterniary medicine, and maintains a strong interest in feline medicine.
Dr. Keating spends her time away from the office riding horses and enjoying Rockbridge's countryside with her husband, Standard Poodles, and cats.

Dr.Monique Siex
Dr. Siex fell in love with Virginia while attending Randolph-Macon Woman’s College in Lynchburg, Virginia. She graduated from University of Florida’ College of Veterinary Medicine in 1990. Following graduation from veterinary school, she worked as a mixed animal practitioner in the Shenandoah Valley for three years, then in a large small animal hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, for the next eleven years.
“I had to come back to Virginia!” Dr. Siex moved to Rockbridge County in 2005, and has brought her valuable skills to NBHA. She maintains a strong interest in feline medicine, internal medicine and surgery. Dr. Siex shares the NBHA practice philosophy of providing quality medicine and compassionate care for all of our feline and canine patients.
Dr. Siex shares a log home in the country with her husband and nine furry felines.
